Animal Shelter in El Paso, Tx

For my photography class project, I chose to tell the story of the Animal Shelter in El Paso, where I volunteer. As someone who loves animals, I wanted to capture the heart and dedication that defines this shelter. Through my lens, I aimed to highlight not only the animals seeking loving homes but also the compassionate people who care for them.

The shelter offers a variety of programs designed to educate the community and reduce the number of animals in need. From adoption events and fostering opportunities to spay and neuter clinics, their mission is to create a future where every animal has a home. I wanted my photos to showcase these efforts and the positive impact they have on both animals and people.

While taking photos, I focused on capturing moments that reflect the bond between the staff, volunteers, and animals. Whether it was a volunteer gently holding a kitten, a staff member walking a playful dog, or a family meeting their future pet for the first time, each image told a story of hope and connection. The passion and dedication of the people working there were evident in every interaction, and I wanted my photographs to convey that warmth and care.

This project allowed me to combine my love for animals with my passion for photography. Through my images, I hope to inspire others to support their local animal shelters, whether by adopting, volunteering, or spreading awareness. Ultimately, my goal was to show that behind every wagging tail and curious gaze is a team of compassionate individuals working tirelessly to give animals a second chance at happiness.

This lady was looking for her pup, I help post her missing pup on social media, and someone responded later  that evening, that the shelter picked him up. Her pup was at the shelter, but in the contaiment room, where they keep the animal to make sure they don’t have any diseases that can spread to other animals. The next day she texted me that she got reunited with him. Yeay to Happy Endings!
